one fair price. no per-document credits.
Current Best Authority pricing isn't posted publicly by Litera, and firm terms can vary. The plan for Veraciting is simpler: charge by the year — mark every brief you write, all year, for one number.
- full functionality, no caps
- unlimited briefs, unlimited cites
- v1 marking (v1.5 verification when it ships)
- uninstall whenever — no questions
- everything in trial, forever
- $99/year for each seat after the first, up to 12
- quarterly index updates (federal & state reporters · codes · regs · agency precedent)
- priority feedback channel — we read every email
- Windows at launch · Mac planned (parity in validation) · a seat is a person, not a device
- money-back guarantee planned (terms confirmed at launch)
an honest matrix.
A few categories where Veraciting wins, a few where the incumbent is older and broader. We'd rather you knew the truth.

no upsells. no add-on packs.
every authority type
Cases, statutes, regulations, agency precedent. Short-form and string cites grouped automatically. No format add-ons.
v1.5 included from launch
When v1.5 ships, annual subscribers get it. No "Veraciting Plus" tier. No "Verify add-on." Same line of product.
quarterly refreshes
Reporter, code, and reg indexes update on a cadence you control. New jurisdictions roll in as we add them — at no extra charge.
Mac & Windows (planned) · per seat
The plan: install on as many machines as you use. A seat is a person, not a device. (Windows at launch; Mac parity in validation.)
direct from the builder
Emails go to the founder, who is also a working attorney. Replies usually inside one business day.
v1 → v1.5 → v2
All point releases included. v2 (TOA hyperlinking + a firm-seat admin console) is a planned upgrade — current subscribers get a favorable grandfather rate.
things people ask about pricing.
can I cancel any time?
That's the plan. Cancellation and refund terms will be finalized at launch and follow the billing platform's policies (Veraciting is planned to sell through Microsoft's Commercial Marketplace). The intent: an annual money-back window, and after that your subscription stays active through the period you paid for. Monthly would cancel at the next billing date.
what happens if I cancel after using it for six months?
The add-in keeps working through the period you paid for, then becomes inactive. The marks already in your documents stay — they're just Word bookmarks. Your TOA fields keep updating. Nothing breaks; you just can't scan new briefs without a license.
do you have firm or enterprise pricing?
Yes. The first seat is $179/year; every seat after that is $99/year, up to twelve. A seat is a person, not a device. For firms larger than twelve, email [email protected] and we'll sort out bulk pricing. A shared admin console and centralized M365 deployment are planned for v2 — for now, seats are managed by email and we'll help you get set up.
do you offer educational or pro bono pricing?
Yes. Free for full-time clinical-faculty and clinical-students; free for solo attorneys doing primarily pro bono work. Send us a note from your institutional or organizational email.
what does "v1.5 included" actually mean?
v1 (marking + TOA insertion) ships first. v1.5 (the verification feature) follows in the same product. Active annual subscribers will see v1.5 as an automatic update — no separate purchase, no upsell email, no tier upgrade.
what about v2?
v2 adds TOA hyperlinking (parity with Best Authority's longstanding feature) and a firm-seat admin console. Pricing for v2 isn't finalized; current annual subscribers will get a favorable grandfather rate — we won't ask you to pay full freight twice for one product line.
I'm worried about the company being a one-person shop.
Reasonable worry. Two answers: (1) the engine is your local files — if Veraciting vanished tomorrow, your marks and your TOA fields are still Word bookmarks and Word fields. Nothing locks you in. (2) WeSkye Studio also publishes fewer; the founder is a working lawyer with skin in the game.
do you take card on file? store payment info?
At launch, Veraciting is planned to be sold through Microsoft's Commercial Marketplace, which handles checkout and billing — so we wouldn't see or store your card numbers. We'd receive only the subscription metadata needed to confirm your license is active. The exact billing flow will be confirmed before launch.
can I pay in pounds / euros / something else?
Pricing is planned in USD; if you're billed through Microsoft's Commercial Marketplace, your bank may convert and Microsoft handles applicable VAT/tax in supported regions. We don't plan local pricing at v1. Billing details will be confirmed at launch.
two or three briefs will pay for the year.
Veraciting is in development. A 1-month free trial is planned for launch — check the launch status meanwhile.
